User Agreement
Stevens Aviation provides free
wireless Internet access via an open, unsecured wireless network. It is
strongly recommended that you do not use our network to transmit personal,
financial or legal data. It is not possible for our company to protect
you against malicious theft or interception of such data transmitted over the
wireless network.
Stevens Aviation will not assume
responsibility for the safety of equipment or for harm done to laptop/PDA
configurations, security, or data files resulting from connection to Stevens
Aviations wireless service. Virus and security protection is the
responsibility of the wireless user.
The laptop/PDA owner is responsible
for setting up their equipment to access Stevens Aviation wireless
network. Stevens Aviation provides limited technical assistance to assist
wireless users connecting to our network. Stevens Aviation is not
responsible for any changes you make to your computer’s settings and cannot guarantee
your hardware will work with our wireless connections. Stevens Aviation
staff does not provide technical assistance with wireless access, and will not
under any circumstances make changes to the configuration of a privately owned
wireless device.
Stevens Aviation reserves the right
to limit bandwidth on a per connection basis on the wireless network.
This will ensure network reliability and fair sharing of network resources for
all wireless users. In general, the library limits users to 128kb to 500kb per
connection.
Staff enforcement of Stevens
Aviation Internet Use Policy by regularly monitoring computer use by wireless
end-users is not possible due to the size of Stevens Aviation. Therefore,
Stevens Aviation has enabled content filtering on its wireless network in order
to prevent the viewing of obscene material or sexually explicit graphics,
activities that are expressly forbidden under the Policy.
