 A Legacy of Outstanding Service Since 1950, Stevens Aviation has set the standard for excellence in aircraft sales, service and management. Its rich history began in Greenville, SC when Robert T. Stevens, President of The J.P. Stevens Company, decided to start his own flight department. By the mid 1950's, Stevens Aviation expanded its capabilities by pumping fuel and doing repairs on transient aircraft. The flight department quickly outgrew its hangar at the Greenville Downtown Airport and in 1962; Stevens became the only FBO at the newly constructed Greenville-Spartanburg Airport. In 1968, Stevens Aviation became a Beechcraft distributor, accelerating the growth of the company. By the end of the decade, Stevens' capabilities went well beyond aircraft charter, line services and maintenance. Over 100 people were employed at Stevens, the fleet of aircraft had grown to more than two dozen and the company rapidly developed a reputation for being one of the “Best King Air” shops in the region. By the 1980's, Stevens Aviation had become a full service facility offering maintenance, avionics, completions, sales and FBO services. Today Stevens Aviation's facility at the Greenville/Spartanburg Airport GSP is dedicated to service in the aviation industry just as it was back in 1962. Accessed by an 11,000 foot runway complete with ILS, GPS and NDB approaches, this expansive location is an authorized service center for Hawker/Beechcraft, Stevens - GSP includes over 135,000 square feet of hangar space, back shops and offices and 45 highly trained employees committed to serving you. |
Commonly referred to as the "Home of Stevens Aviation," Stevens-GSP today serves as our premier FBO and the Stevens turbo-prop center. While all of our facilities have seasoned aviation veterans, Stevens-GSP boasts more than five employees with over 40 years of experience each. Greenville plays host to a number of attractions and venues geared to entertain any interest that you may have, starting with beautiful Falls Park on the Reedy and the acclaimed Liberty Bridge, a 355 ft pedestrian walkway overlooking the historic waterfall in our vibrant downtown. Visit our museums, galleries, the Greenville Zoo and more. And throughout the Upcountry, there are more than 500 historic sites as well as the famous Blue Ridge Mountains with pristine lakes and forested trails. Who knows Shoeless Joe Jackson may even show up at the ballpark or at a museum or two. Greenville also offers performing arts venues with a full calendar of plays and concerts throughout the year. The most difficult decision in planning your visit will be where to begin.
